The car is street driven on pump gas 99% of the time. In order to gain a little bit more potential that you can only use on race gas 1% of the time, you're decreasing your streetability for the other 99% of the time. You're decreasing the car's performance under the vast majority of the conditions that it will see. A real life situation would go like this: A person goes to the track maybe a few times a year. On sport 500's, his car will seem extremely fast on the street to nearly everyone who sees it. Nobody can touch you. But then you decide that you're willing to give up streetability for track-only performance. You install huge, laggy turbos that can deliver good times when you're at the track on slicks using race gas. Every other time you're using it, though, you have a laggy slug that's slower on the street than it was before.
